My name is Kulwinder Singh, and I am currently employed at HCL Tech as a Lead Engineer in the Accessibility domain. In addition to my professional responsibilities, I serve as an IT Member of the Alumni Association of the Institute for the Blind, where I actively contribute to technology-driven initiatives that empower visually impaired individuals. My journey began in 2002 when I enrolled at the Institute for the Blind in elementary classes. After completing my higher secondary education in 2014, I pursued a Bachelor’s degree at PGDAV College, University of Delhi, graduating in 2018. I commenced my professional career in November 2019 as an Accessibility Tester at QA InfoTech, where I built a strong foundation in digital accessibility and inclusive design principles. In August 2022, I joined HCL Tech as a Lead Engineer, where I work extensively with assistive technologies, including Braille displays and screen readers, to enhance accessibility across digital platforms. Looking ahead, I aspire to ensure that every member of the Institute for the Blind Alumni Association is equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively utilize assistive technologies, devices, and tools—thereby fostering a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable environment for all.
