My name is Anuj Sharma, and I have the honour of serving as the Head of Information Technology and a core team member of the Alumni Association of the Institute for the Blind. My journey stands as a testament to the power of a strong educational foundation, the transformative potential of technology, and the enduring value of giving back to one’s community. Having commenced my schooling in 2003 and graduated in 2015, I completed my education through the 12th grade with a deep appreciation for the technological knowledge imparted by my teachers—knowledge that became the cornerstone of my future pursuits. After graduation, technology evolved into both my passion and my profession. I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, complementing them with multiple specialized certifications to enhance my technical expertise. Among these, the International Best Trusted Tester Certification in Worldwide Accessibility remains a defining achievement, symbolizing my commitment to ensuring that digital content and environments are accessible to all. Alongside, I have cultivated strong competencies in web development and cybersecurity, focusing on building innovative and secure digital systems that align with contemporary global standards. Beyond my professional endeavours, I have remained deeply involved in social initiatives. I have devoted time to assisting individuals in setting up their devices, resolving technical challenges, and developing digital solutions that serve the broader community. Currently, I am privileged to hold a position in the State Bank of India (SBI), where I continue to apply my technological acumen within the public sector. The success that I and many of my peers have achieved reflects the enduring impact of the education and values instilled during our formative years at the Institute. As the IT Head of our Alumni Association, my vision is to harness technology to create pathways of opportunity for the next generation. I aim to introduce emerging digital trends through workshops, interactive events, and mentorship programmes that equip students and young professionals with the practical skills and awareness necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. My mission is to ensure that every learner from our community can leverage technology as a tool for empowerment, inclusion, and sustainable success. Through collective effort and continuous innovation, I believe we can build a more connected, informed, and technologically resilient future for all members of our Alumni network.
